引述Christine的話 “在一些小時候的片段記憶裡，早上起床時聞得到媽媽身上飄散的香水氣味，爺爺身上的古龍水參雜著香煙的味道，奶奶在洗衣房裡的味道，甚至感覺到奶奶從市場回來時一起帶回的藥草清香氣息。”

在氣味當中有一些非常平靜和憂鬱的分子可以觸發記憶。因為記憶讓人類如此特別，以及我們的感官帶我們回到過去的舒適之中。通過嗅覺，我們可以被溫柔地帶入生活中平靜祥和的時刻。

Scents have always been something that connects us to our memories, and this is what drew Bau Bau founder, Christine Lafian, to craft her own incense line.

In her words, “some of my very early memories in life are waking up to the smell of my mum’s perfume, the smell of my grandpa’s cologne mixed with his cigarette, the smell of my grandma’s laundry room, and even the smell of herbs in the local market in my grandma’s island.”

There is something very calming and melancholic about smells that can trigger memories. What makes being human so special is our memories, and how our senses slip us into the comfort of our past. Through our smell, we can be softly taken into the moments of our lives that are calm and peaceful.

We invites you to enjoy the comfort of remembering small, special moments in your life. The idea for Bau Bau is to interpret these aromatic fragments of memories into scents that enable one to recreate the ritual-like and timeless quality of those moments.
